Carlos Alcaraz secured his fourth title of the season by defeating Alex de Minaur 6-1, 6-4 on Sunday at the Vienna Open. The victory marks the 28th career title for the Spaniard and extends his winning streak at ATP 500 events to 26 consecutive matches.
Alcaraz arrived in Vienna following titles in Doha and Tokyo. He entered the final with a 16-0 record at ATP 500 tournaments in 2026 and did not drop a set during the five matches of the week.
The world number two established control from the start of the match. Alcaraz broke de Minaur's serve in the opening game and quickly built a double-break advantage. He completed the first set in straight games, frequently forcing errors from the Australian by punishing short returns.
De Minaur offered more resistance in the second set and maintained parity for extended periods. However, Alcaraz maintained a high level of play across the court to finish the match in 97 minutes. This result gives Alcaraz his seventh consecutive win over de Minaur.
Alcaraz will travel to Paris next week for the Masters event. He has already qualified for the season-ending ATP Finals in Turin. De Minaur will also compete in Paris as he attempts to secure a spot at the ATP Finals for a third consecutive year.
