Jay-Z will headline the Super Bowl halftime show on February 14, 2026, according to the National Football League. The announcement confirmed that the artist, known professionally as Shawn Carter, will perform near Los Angeles. This marks his first time performing at the NFL championship game.
The NFL stated that anticipation for a guest star is building, specifically mentioning Beyoncé as a leading candidate. Jay-Z’s production company, Roc Nation, has managed the halftime production since 2019. He holds a key role in selecting the annual performer. The league did not clarify if he will share the stage with other acts.
The decision followed two sold-out shows Jay-Z played at the Super Bowl host stadium last weekend. Those concerts were part of a tour marking the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt. The venue will host Super Bowl LXI next month.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell described his excitement for the global audience to see the artist's work. He recalled that his only request when signing with Roc Nation was for Jay-Z to perform when he felt ready. Goodell called the upcoming performance a display of artistry and cultural impact.
Jay-Z shared his thoughts on the milestone in a statement. He described the path from his first album to the Super Bowl stage as a journey. He noted that 30 years of music and culture on the world's biggest stage continues to be a dream come true.
