Baltimore Ravens head coach Jesse Minter confirmed on Monday that kicker Jake Moody will take over field goal duties for the upcoming game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Minter stated that second-year kicker Tyler Loop is expected to be placed on injured reserve. When asked directly if Moody would kick in the contest, Minter replied, "At this point, yes." The Jaguars and Ravens are scheduled to meet on Thursday at M&T Bank Stadium.

Minter described Loop's injury as a minor issue that worsened over time. He noted that Loop has been "dealing with something small that kind of became a little bit more." Loop, a native of Arizona, missed a 34-yard field goal attempt during the second quarter of the Ravens' 36-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Loop has made 13 of his 17 field goal attempts this season. His success rate drops sharply from long range, as he has converted only two of five attempts from 40 to 49 yards. Despite these struggles, he has successfully kicked field goals from 57 yards and 64 yards. The 64-yard kick secured a victory against the Dallas Cowboys in Brazil.

Loop's reputation is also shaped by a missed 44-yard attempt in the final seconds of last year's regular-season finale. That miss cost the Ravens a division title and a playoff berth. Moody, a former third-round pick by the San Francisco 49ers, was signed to the Ravens' practice squad on October 19. This marks his second stint with the team's practice squad.

Moody has converted 64 of his 82 career field goal attempts. His career-long kick is 57 yards. In three postseason games, all played with San Francisco, he has made six of his eight field goal attempts.
