The Philadelphia 76ers secured a 114-109 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night, improving their record to 4-1.

Tyrese Maxey provided the decisive scoring in the final minute. With 1:10 remaining, he hit a 25-foot three-pointer to put Philadelphia ahead 109-104. Later, with 46 seconds left, he sank a 29-foot shot to extend the lead to 112-106. Maxey finished the game with a team-high 27 points, including 17 in the fourth quarter.

The win came after a shaky third quarter that nearly cost the Sixers the game. Philadelphia entered the half leading 62-52 but was outscored 36-13 in the third period. The team shot 5-for-21 from the field during that span. In the other three quarters, the Sixers shot 35-for-66. The Pacers capitalized on the lull, shooting 13-for-23 from the field in the third quarter.

The fourth quarter saw a sharp change in efficiency. The Sixers committed only two turnovers and outscored the Pacers 39-21. Indiana shot 6-for-20 in the fourth quarter and missed all seven of their three-point attempts.

Three Sixers recorded double-doubles. LeBron James had 13 points and 10 assists, Jaylen Brown contributed 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Joel Embiid collected 21 points and 11 rebounds. James did not turn the ball over, while the other four starters combined for 16 giveaways. Four of James' assists came in the fourth quarter.

Anfernee Simons provided a strong performance in 26 minutes, scoring 20 points. He made six of his 10 three-point attempts. The rest of the bench contributed five points, with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scoring four and Adem Bona adding one.

Bona played four minutes but picked up two fouls and a technical. He left the court after about two minutes and 20 seconds. Embiid played 38 minutes and 32 seconds. Through four games this season, Embiid is averaging nearly 36 minutes per game.

The Sixers will host the New York Knicks on Friday before traveling to Charlotte to face the Hornets on Saturday.
