London Metropolitan Police will arrest all attendees and organizers of a demonstration supporting Palestine Action near the US Embassy this Saturday. The force announced the plan on Friday, describing it as a robust policing operation in response to a mass show of support organized by the activist group Defend Our Juries.
The police stated that expressing support for Palestine Action is now a criminal offense under the Terrorism Act. The group was formally proscribed in June 2025, a decision that the Court of Appeal upheld in June 2026. Officers will be deployed in the vicinity of the embassy to enforce these rules.
Commander Adam Slonecki, who is leading the operation, explained that participants are aware of the legal implications. He noted that attending the event is essentially meeting to purposefully commit a crime. Slonecki emphasized that enforcement will not be limited to those holding placards.
According to Slonecki, officers will likely arrest individuals they consider key organizers, those giving instructions, and those providing logistical support. He clarified that the goal is not to prevent people from expressing their views, but to act robustly where criminality is involved.
The demonstration is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, in the area surrounding the US Embassy. The Metropolitan Police issued a warning on October 30, urging those planning to attend to be aware of the expected enforcement actions.
