The Montgomery County Food Policy Council has launched a new interactive campaign called the Agventure. The initiative is a bingo-style challenge designed to encourage residents to engage with the county's agricultural sector. The program was formally announced on October 29, 2026. Participants are invited to download a digital bingo card and complete various farm-related tasks to earn prizes.
The bingo card features 24 distinct activities alongside one free space. The tasks range from visiting local farms and attending farmers markets to picking produce and dining at farm-to-table establishments. Only visits to farms located within Montgomery County count toward the challenge. Participants can document their progress by taking pictures and sharing them on social media using the hashtag #montcoagventure or by sending direct messages to @HHSMontcoPA.
Prizes are awarded based on specific completion patterns on the bingo card. Residents who fill five squares in a row, column, or diagonal will receive a prize consisting of either a hat or a water bottle. Those who complete two or more rows, columns, or diagonals qualify for a raffle entry. The grand prize for the raffle is a package of local farm goods.
The Food Policy Council stated that the primary goal of the Agventure is to promote awareness of the county's strong and diverse farming community. The council aims to connect community members with local agriculture through a fun, interactive experience. The program is part of the Department of Health and Human Services' outreach efforts to support local producers and preserve natural resources.
Participants may mail in their prizes or claim them after the event concludes. The Agventure will end in November. At that point, prizes will be mailed to the winners. Questions regarding the challenge can be directed to the Food Policy Council members via email at oph.agventure@montgomerycountypa.gov.
The department has promoted the challenge across multiple social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and X. The handle @HHSMontcoPA is used for all posts related to the campaign. The county also directs residents to the Field to Family Map to identify available products and activities at local farms.
The initiative emphasizes the role of local farms in providing food, supporting the local economy, and contributing to environmental health. The campaign encourages residents to explore the variety of offerings available in Montgomery County. The department highlighted the diversity of the county's agricultural community in its promotional materials.
The Agventure is open to all residents of Montgomery County. There is no cost to participate. The challenge runs through November, with the final raffle draw taking place at the end of the month. The Food Policy Council manages the program in coordination with the Department of Health and Human Services.
